Vinyl Plotting at Maker Cube – Make Stickers, Custom Tote-Bags, and Large Format Wall Decor
A Vinyl Plotter is often used in crafting and sign-making.
Vinyl plotting is a precise and versatile technique used to cut intricate designs from adhesive vinyl sheets. Whether you’re making custom decals, signage, or decorative stickers, vinyl plotting allows you to create professional-quality graphics with ease. By using a computer-controlled blade, a vinyl cutter follows your digital design to produce clean, accurate cuts.
In our hands-on Vinyl plotting workshop, we will go over the basics of vinyl plotting and techniques for vinyl application! You will get to make and take home custom, ready-to-apply decals at the end of this class.
How Does Vinyl Plotting Work?
The vinyl plotter follows a digital design, so you need to create a design in a digital vector drawing software such as Adobe Illustrator, Vcarve, or Inkscape (free).
Your file needs to be optimized for vinyl plotting before getting it setup in the machine. After cutting out your design, you need to remove all the excess material around your final design, before getting it ready for application.
Vinyl stickers are weather-resistant. It can last up to 3 years for indoor use and up to 1 year for outdoor application. They can be applied to flat or round surfaces including walls, windows, mugs, and more!
What Can You Use Vinyl Plotting For?
Vinyl plotting is popular among hobbyists and professionals alike. You use vinyl plotting to make custom stickers, professional branding, stenciling, and home decor. It can also be used to make apparel using heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) to transfer designs onto clothing, tote-bags, or other fabrics.
What Can the Vinyl Plotter Cut?
Our vinyl plotter can handle Adhesive Vinyl (Permanent and Temporary) as well as Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV).
