SUMMARY:Vinyl Plotting: Making Decals and Stencils
DESCRIPTION:DIY Vinyl Stencil: Customization Made Easy\nVinyl plotting is popular among hobbyists and professionals alike. Learn to create designs\, optimize your file for cutting\, weed to remove excess vinyl and to reveal your design\, and the basics of application for both Adhesive Vinyl and Heat Transfer processes. Use vinyl plotting to make custom stickers\, professional branding\, stencilling\, and home decor. It can also be used to make apparel using heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) to transfer designs onto clothing\, tote-bags\, or other fabrics. \nVinyl plotting is a precise and versatile technique used to cut intricate designs from vinyl sheets. \n**Please note registration closes 24 hours prior to class** \nDuration: 2.5 hours – please arrive early\, the workshop will start promptly \nClass Capacity: 2-4 \nDifficulty: Beginner \nPrerequisites: Basic computer literacy (how to use a computer\, browse the internet\, etc.) required. 2D CAD experience\, drawing with other vector programs like Illustrator or Inkscape is a plus! \nProject: Pair of etched glassware \nAge: 14+ Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian \nClass Goals: \nYou will learn how to create designs\, how to optimize your file for vinyl plotting\, how to weed (remove excess vinyl) to reveal your design\, and how to apply vinyl to flat surfaces. \nNot a member?  If you love the workshop and want more classes or access to our facilities\, check out our monthly memberships. Click here to learn more about membership at Maker Cube. \nGeneral attire: \n\nClosed toed shoes\nLong hair tied back\n\nWhat is the age limit for the class? \nThe minimum age for participants is 14. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian provide supervision during the class. \nWhere can I park? \nMaker Cube’s parking lot has ample space available. Should the lot reach capacity\, there is street parking along 206A St. \nHow do I cancel or reschedule a class? \nRefunds or credit for future classes will only be provided if we are notified by email to info@makercube.ca at least 24 hours in advance of the class. No refunds will be provided for late cancellation\, and a re-booking fee of 50% of the cost of the class will be applied to reschedule a class. \nProcessing fees not refunded. \nPlease arrive 15 minutes before the class for sign-in and to ensure it starts on time\, those arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be able to attend.
