SUMMARY:Fusion 360 – Design Thinking and 3D Modelling
DESCRIPTION:Enter a realm of infinite design possibilities with 3D modelling. We will walk you through the step by step design process using Fusion 360. \nCome to our workshop if: \nYou want to design your very own unique product \nYou’ve got a doodle on a napkin but want to create a professional representation of your idea \nYou are interested in learning automated fabrication tools like CNC mills \nNot a member? If you love the workshop and want more classes or access to our facilities\, check out our monthly memberships. \nDetails:\nDuration: 3.5 hours \n6:00pm – 9:30pm on weekdays \nMaximum # of Participants: 6 \nProject: Skill building experience with Fusion 360 \nPrerequisites: None. \nParticipants must bring a laptop and mouse to the class with Fusion 360 already downloaded and installed! \nDownload Fusio 360 for personal use here: https://www.autodesk.com/ca-en/products/fusion-360/personal \nRecommended: Basic computer competency (how to use a computer\, browse the internet) \n**Please note registration closes 24 hours prior to class** \nClass Goals:\nParticipants in this class will learn how to think and design in 3D! With the help of our instructor\, participants will be introduced to Fusion 360\, navigating a 3D workspace and utilizing a variety of modelling tools to design a projects for fabrication. Learning the underlying thought process of how a physical shape can be manufactured will be what participants use to drive their design process. By the end of the class\, everyone will have a basic understanding of how to use the software to design a project for fabrication and can use the resulting files in our other classes;laser cutting\, CNC milling\, 3D printing. \nAbout the Instructor:\nAdam is the true definition of a Maker with experience ranging from upholstery to machining exhaust fittings for light aircraft. He has been tinkering for as long as he can remember and fondly recalls spending summers with his dad and brothers building tree forts\, soapbox racers\, and bike ramps. Their favourite project? An epic two-floor pallet wood treehouse complete with lights\, windows and (of course) a secret escape hatch. \nHe followed his passion through school taking as many courses as he could in woodworking\, metal fabrication\, music production\, and media arts. For the past 10 years\, Adam has built skillsets in many disciplines with his favourite being custom car audio fabricator. Adam’s approach to design and making often comes from a need to solve problems that don’t have commercially available solutions. \nLearn more about Maker Cube and check out our other classes and events at www.makercube.ca \nFAQs\nWhat is the age limit for the class?\nThe minimum age for participants is 14. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian provide supervision during the class. \nWhere can I park?\nMaker Cube’s parking lot has ample space available. Should the lot reach capacity\, there is additional street parking along 206A St. \nHow do I cancel or reschedule a class?\nRefunds or credit for future classes will only be provided if we are notified by email to info@makercube.ca at least 24 hours in advance of the class. No refunds will be provided for late cancellation\, and a re-booking fee of 50% of the cost of the class will be applied to reschedule a class. \nProcessing fees are not refunded. \nPlease arrive 15 minutes before the class to sign-in and to ensure the class starts on time. Those arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be able to attend. In the event of low registration\, the class will be canceled and participants registered will be rescheduled to an alternate class date. \nDiscover more to make at Maker Cube here

This small-cohort pilot is built for Maker Cube members who want to learn the same practical design approach we use in-house—and apply it directly to their own projects. With a maximum of four participants\, expect lots of individual feedback\, iteration\, and real problem-solving. \n[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”26197″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”None” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” margin_top=”30″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1772398879556{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”]\nBuild Real-World Design Workflows in Fusion\n[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][vc_column_text]\nAcross the series\, you’ll build confidence moving between the key Fusion workspaces used in real fabrication workflows: solid modeling for planning parts and assemblies\, surface tools when geometry gets complex\, reverse engineering with measurements and scan data\, and CAM for everything from simple toolpaths to multi-setup parts. You’ll also explore sheet metal design and unfolding so you can create flat patterns for plasma\, laser\, or templates\, plus strategies for designing across woodworking\, metalworking\, 3D printing\, and mixed-material builds. \n[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”26195″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”None” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” margin_top=”30″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1772398885450{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”]\nSmall Cohort\, Serious Skill Growth\n[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][vc_column_text]\nThis is a software-only class focused on design thinking and file preparation. You’ll leave with a stronger ability to create manufacturable designs\, troubleshoot fit and tolerances\, and prepare clean files for CNC\, 3D printing\, laser\, plasma\, or outsourcing. If you miss a session\, catch-up files and tutorials will help you stay on track. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” top_padding=”40″ text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none” gradient_type=”default” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” text_align=”left” row_position=”default” row_position_tablet=”inherit” row_position_phone=”inherit” overflow=”visible” pointer_events=”all”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” overflow=”visible” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text el_class=”bullets”]\nDetails\n\n6 sessions\, 2.5h each\nCost: 500 per person\nMaximum 4 participants\nCatch up files and tutorials provided if you miss a class\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” overflow=”visible” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text el_class=”bullets”]\nPlanned guided projects:\n\nPrint-in-place 3D printed hinges Headphone stand (sketch → model)\nGift box (intro to CAM\, tolerances)\nFlat-pack CNC stool (joinery\, arranging parts\, 2D/3D CAM)\nInstrument body (guitar body\, two-sided CNC setup)\nElectrical Box (sheet metal flat pattern)\nBike accessory clamp (sheet metal + scan data)\nAutomotive speaker mount (scan data)\nTool trays (reverse engineering with measuring + scans)\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
