Slip casting is a powerful technique that uses molds and liquid clay to create forms that would be difficult to achieve by hand. \nIn this hands-on class\, you’ll learn the fundamentals of slip casting using plaster molds. Each participant will select a mold\, pour and monitor their cast\, and demold a finished greenware piece by the end of the session. \nThis class is perfect for those looking to expand their ceramics skills or explore a new way of making. Whether you’re an existing member or completely new to ceramics\, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of the process—and a piece ready for firing. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” top_padding=”30″ constrain_group_1=”yes” bottom_padding=”30″ text_align=”left” row_position=”default” row_position_tablet=”inherit” row_position_phone=”inherit” overflow=”visible” pointer_events=”all”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” overflow=”visible” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]\nDetails: \n\nDuration: 3 hours\nMaximum # of Participants: 8\n\nWhat you’ll make: \n\nOne slip-cast ceramic piece\, ready for drying and firing\n\nTopics covered: \n\nIntroduction to slip casting and mold-based ceramics\nUnderstanding casting slip and timing your pours\nHow to safely use and care for plaster molds\nDemolding and handling greenware pieces\nDrying and firing considerations\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” overflow=”visible” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]\nCome to our workshop if: \n\nYou want to learn how to make ceramics using molds\nYou’re interested in working with liquid clay (slip)\nYou want to create more complex or repeatable forms\nYou’re looking to expand your ceramics skillset beyond handbuilding\n\n  \n**Please note registration closes 24 hours prior to class**[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Not a member? If you love the class and want more shop time we offer great incentives for new members on the day of the workshop. Click here to learn more about membership at Maker Cube. \nFAQs\nWhat is the age limit for the class? \nThe minimum age for participants is 14.
