Slip & Glaze – Cast and Finish Your Own Ceramic Mug

June 27 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$149.00

Go beyond paint-your-own pottery and learn how ceramic mugs are actually made.

In this hands-on ceramics workshop, you’ll explore both sides of the process: slip casting and glazing. Participants will begin by learning how to cast a ceramic mug using liquid clay and plaster molds. While your freshly cast mug dries, you’ll also glaze a pre-fired mug that will be kiln-fired after class and ready for pickup.

This class is designed to give you a behind-the-scenes look at ceramic production while still letting you leave with a finished functional piece. Whether you’re completely new to ceramics or looking to expand your skills, this is a fun and approachable introduction to mold-based pottery techniques.

Details:

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Class Capacity: 4-12

What you’ll make:

  • One slip-cast greenware mug (passed forward to the next participants)
  • One glazed ceramic mug (Please allow up to 3 weeks for firing and pickup)

**Please note registration closes 24 hours prior to class**
