DIY Heat Transfer Vinyl T-Shirt
Want to make your custom apparel or tote-bags? Heat transfer vinyl makes it very easy to make one-of-a-kind designs!
In our hands-on Vinyl plotting workshop T-shirt, we will go over the basics of vinyl plotting and techniques for vinyl application! You will get to make and take home a custom t-shirt at the end of this class.
Vinyl t-shirts are made with Siser HTV which can last up to 100+ washes, when following proper procedures. Have you ever noticed t-shirts with cracked or peeling designs? These shirts were likely done with Heat Transfer Vinyl. Follow these instructions below to make sure you let these designs last longer – courtesy of “The Best Vinyl Cutters”
- Make sure your design fully cures before you fold, stretch, wear, or wash it! It takes 24 hours for the adhesive to cure for a strong bond.
- Turn your design inside out to protect the design
- Use cool water – warm water works as well. Hot water will damage the adhesives and cause premature peeling
- Hang to dry, or tumble dry on low heat
- Avoid harsh detergents, cleaners, fabric softener, or dry cleaning.
